Cop-gripe plunge
Civilian complaints against the NYPD dropped a substantial 15 percent in 2010 and hit the lowest annual total in seven years, officials said yesterday.
There were 6,746 misconduct complaints filed by civilians in 2010 compared to 7,660 that were lodged in 2009, and last year’s totals were the fewest since 2004.
“The numbers speak for themselves,” said NYPD spokesman Paul Browne.
