Two men impersonating NYPD officers shot a man and then stole his car from in front of his Queens home, cops said.

Carey Dean was driving at 202nd Street and 104th Avenue in Hollis around 11:25 p.m. Friday when a black Ford Crown Victoria with police lights pulled him over, according to the NYPD.

When the victim stopped his car, two strangers wearing turtlenecks with NYPD lettering on the collar approached and demanded the keys to Dean’s 2010 Nissan Maxima, before asking about the location of a gun, cops said.

Dean, 30, said he didn’t have a gun, prompting the phony cops to yank him out of the car and try to handcuff him.

Dean briefly struggled with the duo before breaking free and trying to make a run for it, police sources said.

But one of the attackers shot Dean in the right leg, before they took off in his Maxima, cops said.

The victim was taken to Jamaica Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

From his hospital room, Dean, with his girlfriend by his side, confirmed that a pair of ersatz cops stopped him, but declined to comment further on Saturday.

Dean, a one-time barber, is currently unemployed, according to a man identifying himself as his brother. He’s a “good person” with a “good heart,” the man said.

Neither suspect had been arrested by Saturday afternoon. injuries that were not life-threatening.
