Eaton, NY An off-duty sheriff’s deputy has died after a deer collided with his motorcycle on a central New York road.

Madison County sheriff’s deputies said Todd DePasquale, 48, of Rome, was riding Wednesday with a group of motorcyclists when a deer ran into his bike on Route 26 in Eaton, 20 miles southeast of Syracuse. He was taken to Hamilton Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
