A Brooklyn thug was sentenced to 30 years behind bars Wednesday for shooting a police officer — as a courtroom full of uniformed cops stared the punk down.

Elijah Foster-Bey, 20, was convicted last month of blasting Det. Ricardo Ramirez in the leg after the cop chased him into an East New York apartment building in 2010.

“I nearly lost my leg to complications and infections,” Ramirez said in court as he called for Judge Joel Goldberg to slam Foster-Bey with the maximum sentence.

“There were even times when I thought I’d be better off dead.”

Foster-Bey was sentenced to 25 years for assault plus five years for criminal possession of a weapon.

Prosecutors also asked for the maximum – which would have been 40 years – arguing that Foster-Bey had the choice to avoid violence.

“He had the chance to drop the gun. This would have ended if he had dropped the gun,” said assistant district attorney Lew Lieberman.

Over 80 cops and detectives crowded the courtroom to watch Foster-Bey be sentenced.

Foster-Bey declined to speak before he was sentenced.
