A veteran police officer was hospitalized with two broken legs today after a drunken driver barreled into him in Brooklyn — minutes after he pulled over another boozed-up motorist, cops said.

The 27-year-old officer first spotted a 2008 Honda swerving erratically on the Brooklyn Queens Expressway at the Metropolitan Avenue exit in Williamsburg early this morning, authorities said.

The cop pulled over the Honda, driven by Hector Herrera Espinosa, 40, of Maryland.

The officer got out of his car and walked over to Espinosa when another car then came barreling up the highway, heading straight for the cop’s parked radio car, police said.

That car’s driver, Juan Diaz, 32, of Jackson Heights, Queens, swerved at the last second, slammed into a yellow cab and spun out of control — crashing into the cop.

The officer, who has 5 ½ years on the job and is assigned to Manhattan South Task Force, was being treated at Bellevue Hospital.

Both drivers failed Breathalyzer tests and were later charged with DWI.
