Flanked by a sea of cops, Katherine Berger — the widow of fallen NYPD K-9 officer Michael Colangelo — shared a heartfelt moment with her husband’s four-legged partner before laying him to rest Friday.

The grieving newlywed said goodbye to her longtime lawman during a private ceremony at St. Edward the Confessor church in Syosset, LI.

She could be seen leaning down and giving his German shepherd, Jimbo, a kiss on the head as the funeral procession went by.

Colangelo was killed in a car crash last Sunday — along with NYPD detective John Martinez — just hours after marrying Berger.

Funeral services were also held Friday for Martinez, who was sitting shotgun when Colangelo wrecked a 2018 Maserati that Martinez had rented. The 16 year veteran was laid to wrest at St. Patrick’s church in Smithtown.

It was an emotional scene in Syosset as hundreds of cops gathered to honor their fallen brother in blue. Local firefighters also turned out in droves to pay their respects to Colangelo, a resident of Huntington Station in Suffolk County. The K-9 officer had 10 years on the force and was said to be close friends with Martinez, a married father of two from Hauppauge.

The two were driving on a rural road in Ulster County — just hours after Colangelo’s wedding — when he lost control of the rented Maserati and struck a large tree, according to state police.

The sports car wound up flipping onto its roof, killing both cops, who were not wearing seat belts. Colangelo’s friend was in the back seat but was buckled up — and survived with a head injury.
