Naquan SmithDCPIThe hero cop who injured his arm in the Bronx while pursuing a suspect Friday went home Easter morning with all limbs intact, police sources said.
The officer underwent surgery at Lincoln Hospital early Saturday after tearing a tendon on a fence while pursuing 20-year-old Naquan Smith as part of an anti-crime task force near 137th Street and Willis Avenue just before 11 p.m., authorities said.
Smith was being sought for a previous “ felony assault on a member of the service” at the time, according to police. He remains at large.
The officer is expected to make a full recovery, the source said.
