The city’s notorious rubber-room fiasco is getting the “Law & Order” treatment.

The show’s season finale will feature a plotline revolving around a teacher who spent eight months in a rubber room.

“He’s a young teacher waiting for a hearing as a result of a complaint by a student,” says “L&O” veteran Rene Balcer, who wrote and directed the episode.

Balcer said he was inspired to write the episode after reading about rubber rooms, where teachers who have been brought up on charges pass the time and collect a paycheck.

Thanks to The Post’s years-long crusade, the system, which cost taxpayers $30 million a year, has now been abolished.

A show spokeswoman would only say that ” ‘Law & Order’ is fiction.”

The episode also features the acting debut of Olympic gold-medal skier Lindsey Vonn.
