Pamela Delaney, who built the nonprofit Police Foundation into a powerful tool for the NYPD, announced that she is stepping down as president and CEO effective New Year’s Day.

During more than 26 years with the fund-raising organization, Delaney managed to raise hundreds of millions of dollars to help underwrite department programs such as establishing its Real Time Crime Center.
