Authorities on Monday resumed their search for a woman who went missing in the waters off Queens a day earlier, according to police.

The 35-year-old Far Rockaway woman was wading in waist-deep water with her husband in Jamaica Bay at Bayswater Point State Park near Mott Avenue and Point Breeze Place on Sunday when she was swept away by a wave around 5:30 p.m., cops said.

The woman started floundering and went under, according to police sources.

A good Samaritan who happened to be at the state park tried to save the woman, but was unsuccessful, police said.

The man, cops said, made contact with the woman’s hand, but the current was too strong.

Rescue crews, including NYPD divers, scoured the waters for the woman for hours Sunday night.

The recovery effort resumed at 9:30 a.m. Monday, authorities said.

Aracelis Severino, who witnessed the aftermath of the incident, previously told The Post: “I saw the family going back there crying — running, crying saying: ‘Those were my family.’”
