Cops cut down coke cartel
A Puerto Rican drug kingpin was busted along with nine other dealers, authorities said yesterday.
Investigators seized $1.3 million worth of cocaine from the cartel’s lieutenant, Ricardo Gonzalez-Santiago, 36, when he was arrested in Midtown on March 25, authorities said.
Five of his drug dealers were picked up yesterday.
Gonzalez-Santiago was caught with 36 kilos of cocaine in two suitcases, sources said, and he was charged with operating as a major trafficker.
He had been on the lam from the feds for two years after giving them the slip in Philadelphia in an unrelated case, according to a spokeswoman for Special Narcotics Prosecutor Bridget Brennan.
