Police have stepped up patrols on the Lower East Side after a rash of injuries and damage caused by someone shooting a pellet gun.

At least eight people and several cars have been hit around Alphabet City, according to police.

Detectives believe the BB sniper has been shooting from an upper floor of a building in the Lillian Wald housing project on Avenue D, according to a report.
