Police on Long Island say an incident witnesses believed to be the abduction of a woman while jogging was actually a prank among friends.
Detective Lieutenant Edward Reilly of the Suffolk County Police says Friday an investigation was launched after 911 callers said the woman was put in a van at 3:05 p.m. Friday in Selden.
They say multiple 911 callers reported a dark colored van stopped on a road while the blond woman in athletic clothing was confronted and forced into the van.
Reilly says someone called 911 after seeing a news report of the possible abduction to say the whole affair was a prank, not a crime.
