Cops are looking for a man who attempted to rape an unconscious woman in the Lower East Side early Wednesday morning.
The 21-year-old victim was in and out of consciousness and was intoxicated around Suffolk and Stanton streets, police sources said. At around 3:00 A.M. the suspect approached her when she became unconscious.
He was seen taking his pants and underwear off before lying on top of the victim and attempting to remove her shorts.
A good Samaritan stopped to yell at the suspect and he fled the location.
The victim, who lives in the area of the attack, regained consciousness and was taken to Beth Israel hospital in stable condition where she was treated and released.
The individual is described as a male black, 40 to 45 years old, 5’5″ to 5’7″ tall, weighing 180 pounds, with black hair and a beard. He was last seen wearing a blue t-shirt and black pants.
