A man has been arrested in connection with a fatal hit and run accident today in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, according to police.

James Billups, 46, of Hamilton Heights was charged with leaving the scene of an accident and failure to exercise due care after hitting bicyclist Jiang Shui, 68, while he was traveling northbound on 6th avenue this morning around 9:30 a.m.

Billups fled the scene in a white flatbed truck while Shui was pronounced dead by emergency responders.

Police arrested Billups after an investigation. Additional charges may be pending, according to police.
