ENDICOTT, NY — Officers responding to a domestic dispute in this upstate village found something they didn’t expect: a nearly 4-foot-long alligator.

Cops in Endicott, just west of Binghamton, said they encountered the gator after being dispatched to a home Tuesday. The state Department of Environmental Conservation seized the animal, which can’t legally be kept as a pet.
