City coroners are still examining the bruised, severely underweight body of a 7-month-old Staten Island boy — a week after his mother carried him lifeless into a hospital.
Final tests are still pending on what killed Dameen Mohammed, law enforcement sources told The Post.
Dameen weighed only eight pounds — less than half what he should have — and may have been dead for 24 hours when his mother, Anawar Jawad, 26, brought him to a Brooklyn hospital on Jan. 7, sources said.
The mother is not cooperating with the investigation.
Her other child, a 2-year-old girl, is in Administration for Children’s Services custody, a source told the Staten Island Advance.
