Police busted up an underground casino being run out of two Queens businesses and recovered drugs and thousands of dollars in cash, authorities said.
A total of 16 people were arrested during the Wednesday night take-down when police barged into two separate locations at a commercial strip on Broadway in Elmhurst and put a stop to the illegal gaming.
The back-room betting parlor consisted of 18 electronic gaming machines where customers could make wagers, police said.
Police, who obtained a search warrant for the bust, also found two jars filled with cocaine and $24,000 in cash.
Police had been keeping an eye on the underground casino for a while after receiving a tip that there was illegal activity happening there.
The 16 people arrested were hit with a variety of charges that included drug possession, possession of a gambling device and possession of gambling receipts.
