The gunman who fatally shot a Bronx mother through the peephole of her door hid underneath umbrella to shield his identity as he carried out the hit, new video of the shooting shows.
The video footage, released by the NYPD early Friday, shows the gunman wearing all black, carrying the umbrella over his head as he walked up to 45-year-old Wendy Martinez’s door and rang the doorbell.
The shooter then walked away from the door, but returned to ring the bell once more and shot Martinez once in the face when she slid open the peephole to check who was there.
Police believe Martinez’s Nov. 24 murder was a gang-related hit connected to her son, who is facing a murder case for a 2014 killing, sources told The Post.
Her son, 25-year-old Brian Solano, is a reputed Trinatorios gang member who was supposed to appear in court on the murder case two days after his mother’s killing, sources said.
“That’s a gang-related hit,” a source told The Post of Martinez’s murder. “This is street justice.”
Solano was in Long Island at the time of his mother’s shooting, but sources told The Post a rival gang member likely targeted the apartment.
