Police removed an “Abolish ICE” banner draped in front of the New York Public Library early Tuesday.

The black sign, hanging above an arch in the center of the landmark Fifth Avenue building, had the Spanish message, “11 millones exigimos protección permanente ya,” which means, “11 million of us demand permanent protection now,” photos show.

Below that was the message, “ABOLISH ICE,” referring to the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency.

Cops were called about the sign around 8 a.m., authorities said. Responding officers brought it down to the ground and folded it up, photos show.

It’s unclear who hung it, and no arrests were immediately made.
