A suspect slashed his wrists early Friday morning before NYPD officers with a warrant for his arrest found him bleeding to death in his East Village apartment and ended up saving his life, law-enforcement sources said.

Cops responded to the building on East 7th Street near Tompkins Square Park at about 12:10 a.m. to execute an arrest warrant when they found the suspect inside the apartment bleeding to death, the sources said.

The man, who was unconscious but still breathing, was saved when cops applied tourniquets to his wounds. It was not immediately clear what crime the suspect was wanted for.

The suspect was rushed to Bellevue Hospital and was expected to survive.
