Here kitty, kitty, kitty!
Paul MartinkaA furry white cat got stuck in a storm drain Friday morning in Brooklyn and its desperate meows caught the attention of a neighbor who called 911.
Hilda Colon, 78, was outside sweeping her sidewalk when she heard the cat crying from inside the drain.
“I heard the cat meowing so I called 911,” Colon told The Post.
The trapped kitty looked really beat up and kept crying when a Post photographer approached to take its picture.
Finally four members of New York’s finest showed up and used a crow bar to move the grate out of the way to make enough room for them to grab the feline.
It was grateful to be rescued and immediately jumped into the arms of ESU workers reaching down to grab it.
They held her briefly then put her into a milk crate while they waited for officers from the 72nd precinct to bring an animal carrier.
An officer at the precinct said “the cat is fine and healthy” and will be in the care of animal care and control.
At this time, the cat has been identified as a stray and needs to be adopted to avoid euthinization at the city shelter.
