Two public schools on Staten Island closed Friday after a student who attends both locations tested positive for the coronavirus, the city department of education said.
New Dorp High School and The Hungerford School were shuttered “in an abundance of caution,” the education department announced on Twitter early Friday morning.
Also, St. Teresa Catholic school on Staten Island was closed on Thursday after a basketball coach who works at the school tested positive for the virus.
Meanwhile, Brooklyn College Academy, a public high school on Brooklyn College’s campus, is also closed Friday.
A Brooklyn College student had tested positive for the bug, leading to the campus closure, according to a statement from the school’s president.
The woman, who was last on campus on March 3, is recovering in the hospital.
