EASTON, Pa. — DNA tests indicate a leg found on the Pennsylvania side of the Delaware River last summer belonged to a missing New Jersey teen.

Northampton County Coroner Zachary Lysek says tests show the leg discovered by a fisherman in June belonged to 18-year-old Brian Lynch of Phillipsburg, N.J.

Lynch disappeared after jumping off a railroad bridge that spans the Delaware from Bangor to Knowlton Township, N.J. on Memorial Day. Lysek issued a death certificate for Lynch, calling the injury not survivable.

Lysek said Tuesday that DNA samples taken from the leg matched samples taken from Lynch’s mother.
