A city Department of Correction captain drunkenly drove into a utility pole in Queens Saturday night, critically injuring his passenger, police sources said.

The crash happened at about 7 p.m. on Laurel Hill Boulevard, according to sources.

Gonzalo Kuzma, 39, was charged with driving while intoxicated and refusing to take the breath test, police said.

The 33-year-old passenger, who is also a correction officer, was taken to Elmhurst Hospital for head trauma and was in critical condition, police said.

Both were off-duty at the time.
