A bipartisan quartet of City Council members ripped the Campaign Finance Board Friday for sending out voter guides that directed more than 100,000 residents to head to the wrong polls on Election Day.

“Reports that the Campaign Finance Board published a voter guide without verifying the correct poll site information is irresponsible, reckless, and will absolutely confuse voters,” said Council members Justin Brannan (D-Brooklyn), Joe Borelli (R-SI), Robert Holden (D-Queens) and Kalman Yeger (D-Brooklyn) in a joint statement.

“Potentially hundreds of thousands of voters have been sent the wrong poll site information from the CFB because of their decision to use last year’s General Election Poll Site list.”

The guide also failed to list the early voting sites that open Saturday.

The council members also said they’re demanding copies of the data used by CFB to produce its voter guide mailing, adding if the “CFB knowingly wasted taxpayer dollars by mailing misinformation they should be held accountable.”

“The board is aware that some voter guides were mailed with outdated Election Day poll site information,” said CFB spokesman Matthew Sollars. “Poll sites often change close to an election which is why our guide always advises voters to check their site online before going to the polls.  As we have done in past elections, we have mailed a postcard containing corrected poll site information to all voters who were affected.”
