A Queens city councilman crassly celebrated the defeat of a well-connected Democrat woman by posting a video of the “Wizard of Oz” song “The Witch Is Dead.”
“Bob Holden won! the people of the 30th Council District rejoice!” city councilman Eric Ulrich tweeted on Wednesday, attaching a YouTube video of “Ding-Dong! The Witch Is Dead.”
The GOP upstart Holden edged Crowley – cousin of Queens Democratic leader Rep. Joe Crowleuy – by just 137 votes out of more than 20,000 cast last week.
She conceded defeat on Thursday.
