A City Councilman’s car was burglarized as it sat parked in front of his Staten Island home, police said Sunday.

Joseph Borelli, a Republican representing the south end of the borough, reported the break-in to police around 11 a.m. Saturday when he realized someone had stolen his phone and council ceremonial police shield out of his 2015 Dodge Durango during the night or early morning hours.

Police said Borelli had left the vehicle unlocked when he parked the SUV in front of his Shirley Ave. home in Annadale.

No arrests have been made and police said the incident is still under investigation.
