Brooklyn courts will resume all-day arraignments on the weekends, state officials announced yesterday, a week after The Post exposed illegal waiting times for defendants.

Weekend-arraignment hours were shortened in response to $170 million in budget cuts, leaving hundreds of prisoners in Brooklyn alone waiting more than 24 hours for arraignment.

“We recognized a problem that needed to be addressed,” said court spokesman David Bookstaver. “While cuts were necessary, the operational needs of the court have to come first.”
