An off-duty NYPD officer was arrested for pulling his weapon on a crowded Long Island Rail Road train while trying to quiet four hockey fans celebrating a Ranger victory on the way home from Madison Square Garden Sunday night, authorities said.

Officer David Hendrick, 38, faces menacing and weapons charges after several frightened passengers called 911 to report that a man on the Ronkonkoma-bound train had brandished a gun to calm the boisterous fans. It was not clear whether he had attended the game.

Hendrick was taken into custody by Nassau County and MTA cops when the train pulled into the Mineola station.

Hendrick, a 16-year veteran assigned to the Manhattan Task Force, was suspended without pay.

He pleaded not guilty yesterday at his arraignment, where he was offered a $2,500 bond or $1,000 bail.
