NYPD Investigators have smashed a Brooklyn ring of insurance fraudsters that netted $400,000 in claims by staging fake auto accidents, authorities said yesterday.

The 16 suspects busted yesterday collected payments on nine phony collisions that occurred between September 2009 through May 2011, police said.
