Cops have arrested the creep accused of sexually assaulting and pummeling a woman in a Bronx playground last month before her nephew came to her rescue.

Michael Okonkwo, 21 — who was released on parole in February on two third-degree robbery charges — was arrested around 3 p.m. Thursday in connection with the Sept. 19 attack on a 53-year-old woman inside the Soundview Park playground, police said. 

Okonkwo allegedly approached the victim inside the playground at Boynton and Lafayette avenues around 9:10 p.m. and yanked her by the hair, causing her to fall to the ground, authorities said. 

Then he sat on top of her, covered her mouth, pressed on her neck and touched her body over her clothing, cops said. 

When the victim screamed, her attacker repeatedly punched her in the face, police said. 

During the struggle, the victim’s 25-year-old nephew heard her scream and came to her rescue, grabbing Okonkwo, police said. 

But the suspect managed to break free from the nephew’s grasp and ran westbound through the park, cops said. 

The victim was treated and released at Jacobi Medical Center for a minor cut on her lips and redness on her neck. 

Okonkwo was charged with attempted rape, strangulation, petit larceny and assault, authorities said. 

He has six prior arrests — five for robbery and one for assault, police said.
