Joseph Brooks, the 70-year-old composer of “You Light Up My Life,” who has been charged in a series of sex crimes, settled a lawsuit he had filed against his former fiancée, who’s all of 22.
Brooks sued Joaly Gomez in October for the return of a $60,000 Tiffany engagement ring, a $70,000 Mercedes-Benz and half a million dollars in cash — all of which, under the settlement, she presumably gets to keep.
The suit claimed that Gomez hid the fact that she was still married. But her lawyer, Rosemarie Arnold, produced e-mails showing that Brooks advised her on her divorce before he proposed.
Prior court rulings had granted Gomez the right to keep the gifts.
The Oscar-winning Brooks remains charged in Manhattan with casting-couch sexual assaults on 11 starlets.
