NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly yesterday tapped three former federal prosecutors to evaluate the way the department keeps crime stats.

In an effort to dispel criticism that the department manipulates crime figures, Kelly appointed the lawyers to oversee the newly created Crime Reporting Review Committee.
