A cruise ship that was stranded off New York City on Monday after powerful winds prevented it from docking safely has pulled ashore and unloaded passengers, company officials told The Post.
Guests aboard the Norwegian Gem “disembarked the ship earlier today,” said a rep for the Norwegian Cruise Line.
Strong gale-force winds on the Hudson River on Monday night delayed the ship’s arrival to the Big Apple.
“As such, the itinerary originally scheduled for departure on February 25, has been amended to a 10-day Southern Caribbean cruise departing today,” the rep said, adding that the ship will not visit San Juan in Puerto Rico or St. Kitts because of the snafu.
“Guests who booked shore excursions for these two port of calls through our shore excursion team, will receive a refund credited to their onboard account,” the rep said. “We apologize for any inconvenience this unforeseen change has caused.”
