Billy Crystal is going to bat for his Long Island hometown.

He has made a television commercial exhorting tourists to visit Long Beach, which was left reeling by Hurricane Sandy.

Crystal, a 1965 graduate of Long Beach HS, not only appeared in the commercial for free, but last month made a $1 million donation for the city’s rebuilding efforts, officials there said.

The commercial is part of a $700,000 advertising campaign.
