Gov. Andrew Cuomo had a little fun at Mayor Bill de Blasio’s expense Friday — pretending that his phone connection went awry during a radio interview when asked if hizzoner should pull the plug on his flagging presidential bid.
“Hello?” Cuomo said as if he lost contact with interviewer Alan Chartock’s WAMC “The Roundtable” program.
“Hello,” Chartock responded.
“I lost you, I’m sorry. What’s the next question?” Cuomo asked.
“I threw you for a second, tell the truth,” the governor said with a chuckle, before saying, “Everybody makes their own political decisions.”
It’s not the first time Cuomo made de Blasio’s presidential bid a punch line. He pulled the same prank during a January interview when asked he would support de Blasio’s presidential bid — before the mayor announced he was running.
