Governor Cuomo condemned the bigot who scrawled “KILL THE GAY AWAY” on the front of an abandoned East Village building early Thursday.

“In New York we have zero tolerance for this sort of vile and cowardly act of hate,” Cuomo tweeted. “I’m directing the State Police Hate Crimes Unit to assist the NYPD with its investigation to ensure those responsible are held accountable to the fullest extent of the law.”

The perpetrator spray painted the message on the front gate of 11 Avenue A around 2:40 a.m. Thursday, cops said late Friday. The NYPD’s Hate Crimes Task Force is now investigating the incident.

Authorities later provided a video of the vandal which depicts an approximately 5-foot-6 inch tall man with long, curly blonde hair. He was last seen wearing a green shirt and carrying a yellow messenger bag.
