New York’s attorney general is accusing a real estate developer of stealing from and underfunding a $7.4 million reserve fund for his Manhattan condominium.

Attorney General Andrew Cuomo claims Yair Levy put up only $1.6 million into the Rector Square condo fund in Battery Park City. He says that’s almost $6 million less than the city requires.

Levy allegedly spent the money on himself and relatives. He denies wrongdoing.

Earlier this year, Anglo Irish Bank won a court case to foreclose on Rector Square after Levy’s YL Real Estate defaulted on $165 million in mortgage loans. He also faces a lawsuit from the condo’s owners accusing him of fraud and misrepresentation.

Cuomo filed the lawsuit Wednesday in state Supreme Court.
