Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Wednesday told SUNY Purchase to accommodate a 19-year-old with cerebral palsy who was unable to attend the school because he was not allowed to have a room in his dorm for his caregiver.

“All students have a right to pursue a higher education regardless of disability,” Cuomo said in a statement, a day after The Post broke the story.

“I applaud Nick Astor for his achievements and resolve, and I have urged SUNY Purchase to accommodate him.”

Astor, who is disabled, said that Purchase denied his request for a place big enough to provide a separate room for his caregiver.

“I just won’t be able to go to school. That’s it,’’ a dejected Astor told The Post on Tuesday.

Cuomo stressed that the young man has the right to pursue his education.

“College is key to achieving the American dream,” he said. “…and in New York we are committed to helping make that dream a reality, with equal opportunity for all.”
