Gov. Cuomo is reportedly prepared to institute sweeping measures in the nail-salon industry.
He will introduce regulations on Monday that would give New York’s State Department the ability to shutter unlicensed salons, make it easier for manicurists to obtain licenses, and enforce strict safety measures, The New York Times said.
“Our point is simple: Exploitation has no place in the state of New York,” Cuomo said in a statement.
The changes come after an investigation into the industry by the paper.
