Gov. Andrew Cuomo visited the widow and two sons of slain Officer Rafael Ramos at their home in Brooklyn on Sunday afternoon.

“It’s just unimaginable, there are no words,” Cuomo said after spending an hour with the family.

He said he had a difficult time sitting with the grieving loved ones who were looking to him as the leader of the state for “some wisdom, some answers.”

“Why, why my dad?” one of Ramos’ sons asked Cuomo. “What has my dad done? What did my dad do wrong?”

It wasn’t an easy question to answer, as the governor said, “The truth is, his father did everything right.”

“His father was a beautiful public servant who protected me and my family and you and your family and we have to remember that this holiday season,” he added.

Ramos was shot execution-style in his squad car with fellow officer Wenjian Liu in Bed-Stuy Saturday afternoon by a cop-hating killer, who had stabbed his ex-girlfriend in Baltimore before driving to the city. The killer later turned the gun on himself.

Cuomo was set to go to Liu’s family home later Sunday.
