Gov. Cuomo yesterday called it “exciting” that the new pope is from the Americas, but his father, former Gov. Mario Cuomo, and sister, Madeleine, aren’t as high on Francis I, the ex-Buenos Aires cardinal.

“We’re looking to move forward [on] gay marriage and women priests,” Madeleine told Crain’s. “[He’ll] turn back the clock.” Mario agreed, adding, “Many parts of the church need mending.”
