ALBANY — Cut your whining!

That was Gov. Cuomo’s message yesterday to school officials critical of his budget cuts, further demanding that state education funding target better-performing schools and teachers.

“Where is the funding for teachers that do a better job than other teachers, or schools that do a better job than other schools or districts?” he asked.

Cuomo also renewed his attacks on what he said were bloated school bureaucracies, as first revealed in The Post Monday.

“Funding of education is not funding the business interests of education. We should start talking about funding performance in education, and let’s start looking at this situation from the students’ point of view,” Cuomo continued on the Syracuse public-radio program Capitol Pressroom.

Cuomo, whose new budget slashed school aid by $1.4 billion, or about 8 percent, has called for rewarding better performing school districts with extra state money.
