A cyclist died when he fell and hit his head on a support beam on the Manhattan Bridge, police said Monday.
Phillip Ginsberg, 36, was riding into Manhattan on the bike path of the bridge’s lower roadway around 1 p.m. Sunday when he fell and hit his head on the beam, officials said.
It wasn’t immediately clear what led Ginsberg to fall, including whether he passed out beforehand.
Ginsberg — who was wearing a helmet at the time — was rushed to NewYork-Presbyterian’s Lower Manhattan Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
