An 87-year-old man is the 26th cyclist to die this year after he was hit by a car in Brooklyn, police said Saturday.

Yevgeny Meskin allegedly ran a red light while crossing Ocean Parkway on Avenue P in Midwood just after 10 a.m. on Oct. 30 when a man driving north on Ocean Parkway struck him, police said.

Meskin was unconscious and with severe head trauma when police arrived.

The driver remained at the scene and no arrests have been made, police said. The investigation is ongoing. In 2018, 10 cyclists died after being struck by vehicles, according to city data.
