About 1,000 people pedaled around Brooklyn on Saturday in the third annual Bike the Branches fund-raising event.

There were 11 routes for cyclists to choose from at the ride, which helps raise awareness of the plight of the libraries at a time when most are closed on Saturdays due to budget cuts.

The event comes as Mayor de Blasio slashed funding for libraries by $10 million in his budget proposal.
