To mark the 20th anniversary of “Sex and the City,” actress-turned-gubernatorial candidate Cynthia Nixon launched a new line of merchandise that capitalizes on her Miranda Hobbes persona.
A T-shirt and tote bag — priced at $35 and $30 on her fundraising site — are emblazoned with “I’m a Miranda and I’m voting for Cynthia.”
Another tee targeting toddlers in the SATC 20th Anniversary Collection has the name Miranda cross out to read: “I’m a Future Governor of New York.” It carries a $28 price tag.
And a blue T-shirt costing $30 is marked “unqualified lesbian.” Nixon earlier hawked buttons bearing the slogan after former City Council speaker Christine Quinn insulted her with the same words.
“To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Sex and the City, everyone’s favorite Instagram account @everyoutfitonsatc designed a limited run of Miranda inspired merch!” Nixon’s website announced.
Nixon has capitalized on her ties to the beloved HBO show, with co-stars Sarah Jessica Parker and Kristin Davis endorsing her.
The actress and activist is seeking the 15,000 petition signatures required to get on the Democratic primary ballot in September to challenge Gov. Cuomo.
