Prosecutors won’t seek a grand jury indictment against accused terror bomb plotter Jose Pimentel until next month in a delay agreed to today by both the DA’s office and defense lawyers.

Jose Pimentel, 27, meanwhile remains held without bail, accused of unwittingly working with an undercover to build three pipe bombs he intended to use on government targets including police cars, post offices and soldiers returning home from abroad.

He’s back in Manhattan Criminal Court on January 8, when he’ll learn if he has been indicted in the alleged al Qaeda-inspired plot. He did not appear in court today after voluntarily waiving his appearance, said his lawyer, Lori Cohen. Neither side would discuss the delay.
