A building-maintenance worker was killed just a block from his home yesterday when he was struck by two vehicles as he crossed a busy street.

Leopoldo Hernandez, 57, died at about 6 a.m. as he jaywalked across Borinquen Place in Williamsburg on his way to work, police said.

Hernandez was crossing in the middle of the block just east of the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway when he was run down by a 2002 Ford heading east.

As he lay in the middle of the street, he was run over a second time, by a 2005 Honda minivan, said cops.

Hernandez was pronounced dead at the scene.

Both motorists stopped after the accident, and cops do not suspect criminality.

“That was my father. He was a great man. The best father in the world . . . I don’t know what we’re going to do without him,” said Rainell Hernandez, 15.
